Redstarts

Cloudy with a few light showers and the occasional sunny spell. 12°, light NNW.

2 Common Redstart (poss 3, 2m & 1f) on the hill today along with 11 Wheatear. Elsewhere around the hill were 2 Willow Warbler, 6 Common Whitethroat, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 5 Corn Bunting, 6+ Yellowhammer and 2 Yellow Wagtail over.

A Cormorant flew high west and 8 Swallow over.

On the walk out: a Grey Heron, 2 Reed Bunting, several more Yellowhammer and 3 Common Whitethroat.

Up to 4 Mistle Thrush feeding in the meadow and a Nuthatch in the garden, and quite a few young Blackbird around.

Tony Rayner reports hearing a Cuckoo heard from his garden today.

Male Ring Ouzel still present at Cholsey Meadows.

20:50: several Pipistrelle Bats feeding over the garden and meadow, a Grey Heron flew over and 2 Song Thrush in the garden.

Butterflies: A Brimstone and 2 Orange Tip during a short sunny spell.
