A little livelier

Cloudy with a few sunny spells, 20°, breezy W.

Still rather quiet although a bit more activity along the Bunk line.

At least 1 Spotted Flycatcher near CSW and several Chiffchaff and Blackcap around.

Still a reasonable passage of Hirundines happening with 40+ House Martin, 30+ Swallow and a single Sand Martin noted.

A Little Owl heard calling and 2 Kestrel present and a stream of around 100 Starling all moving south!

Nuthatch and Coal Tit still regular visitors to the garden.

Dragonflies: Banded Demoiselle, Southern Hawker & Common Darter.

Butterflies: Large White, Small White, Common Blue, Red Admiral, Peacock, Gatekeeper & Meadow Brown.

Quiet times

Mainly cloudy with a few sunny spells, 21°, light S.

A rather uneventful walk out to Lollingdon and back today. A Goldcrest singing along Cholsey brook and a flyover Yellow Wagtail at Little Lollingdon.

Nothing much changed.

Common Tern along the Thames today. Per Alan.

Mammals: Brown Hare and Roe Deer.

Dragonflies: Banded Demoiselle, White-legged Damselfly (Alan).

Butterflies: Large Skipper, Small Skipper (Alan), Brimstone, Large White, Small White, Small Tortoiseshell, Speckled Wood and Meadow Brown.

Moths: Cinnabar, Scarlet Tiger (Alan), both these moths being noted frequently.

Insects: Stag Beetle (Alan), a lot of records in Cholsey this year. Good news, and a Hornet Mimic Hoverfly out at Lollingdon.

A bit quiet!

Mainly cloudy, 17°, light WNW.

2 Raven briefly on the hill before continuing westwards, the Common Redstart still present and a Willow Warbler, Blackcap, Mistle Thrush, Green Woodpecker and 2 Kestrel.

Another Willow Warbler heard in partial song near the village and a couple of Blackcap and Chiffchaff noted.

Several small flocks of Swallow and House Martin moving south.

Mammals: Brown Hare and Roe Deer.

Dragonflies: Common Darter.

Butterflies: Brimstone (1), Large White, Small White, Green-veined White (2), Small Blue (1), Painted Lady (3), Red Admiral (2), Gatekeeper and Meadow Brown.
