Cholsey & Sonning

Cloudy, 10°, light SW.

A walk out along the Bunk line today with little change for the New Year.

The usual numbers of Fieldfare, Redwing and Starling feeding in fields near Green lane.

2 Little Grebe now present on the gravel pit and 3 species of Gull but little else of note.

Tony Rayner called today as he had at least 2 Redpoll on his garden feeders.

Tony also put his moth trap out last night and managed to catch 3 species of moth overnight with Pale Brindled Beauty, Early Moth and a Winter Moth.

Alan was at Henley road Gravel pits watching a Velvet Scoter. A county rarity.

Redpoll taken at Cholsey Marsh a few years back
