Far fewer thrushes on the hill today, less than fifty Fieldfare, two Mistle Thrush and a couple of Blackbird.
Just walking back around to the south side of the hill when
a Merlin (fem/juv) flew by fast and
low and settled on a fence post about three hundred metres away in another
field for a couple of minutes before flying off towards the downs above Aston
Tirrold.
