Lollingdon Hill

Sunny, 22º, light to zero wind S.

A walk around Lollingdon hill this afternoon produced a Redstart and a juv Whinchat (there has also been a Whinchat and a Stonechat on the hill at the week end per TW), also 2 Yellowhammer, 5 Chiffchaff, 30+ Goldfinch feeding on the thistles and a Green and Great-spotted Woodpecker and a steady stream of Lesser Blackback Gulls and Corvids flying over.
Good numbers of Black-headed Gulls over the village late afternoon also Swallow and House Martin still around Manor Farm/Marymead area.

Both Large and Small White butterflies and Speckled Wood noted along with Migrant Hawker and several Common Darter dragonflies.
Tawny Owls still around the garden at night and Pipistrelle bats at dusk.

A pair of Grey Wagtail fledged 3 young at the Old Mill.
