Wheatears

Sunny spells, 14°, light SW.

4 Wheatear out at Lollingdon today with 1 on the flooded field, 1 on the hill and 2 more down a track leading from the hill, 2 of the being good candidates for the “Greenland” race.

4 Corn Bunting, 2 Yellowhammer and a Reed Bunting around the hill and 4 Common Whitethroat on territories on the hill.

A Grey Heron out on the flooded field and a Raven nearby and the Little Owl seen again.

A Sparrowhawk over the garden this afternoon mobbed by 2 Swallow and a House Martin.

3 Swift over the village this afternoon. Per Alan Dawson.

Mammals: Roe Deer & Brown Hare, a Noctule seen hunting over the meadow at dusk and a Hedgehog in the garden after dark.

Reptiles: Common Lizard.

Butterflies: Brimstone, Green-veined White, Orange Tip, Small Tortoiseshell, Peacock & Speckled Wood.
