Sunny spells, 6º, moderate SW breeze, chilly in the wind.
A walk out to Lollingdon, still good numbers of Thrushes
around with a flock of 3-400 Fieldfare,
Redwing and Starling feeding in the fields along with a few Song Thrush and Blackbirds. The hill was fairly quiet with a 3 Red Kite, a Buzzard and a single Meadow
Pipit present and 2 Raven flew
south over the hill, the usual flock of c100 Lapwing and several hundred gulls present nearby.
Other species noted were Yellowhammer, Reed Bunting,
Pied Wagtail and Great-spotted Woodpecker drumming.
3+ Bullfinch
still present in the millennium wood area and 100+ Black-headed Gulls present around the playing fields with the odd Lesser Blackback Gull.
A ♂
Sparrowhawk whipped through the
garden late afternoon but did not take anything.
A Song Thrush
regular in the garden and in song most mornings, also up to 6 House Sparrow frequently in the garden
now, ♀ Blackcap, Moorhen and 2 Stock Dove
regular. A flock of 8 Long-tailed Tits
visiting for the last 2 days and a Green
Woodpecker in the meadow early morning.
