Coming out!

Sunny, 22º, light SW.

A day spent catching up with some needed gardening chores and young birds "coming out" in to the garden.

Young Robins in the garden today with 2 plus youngsters and 2 adults in the rear garden and another pair of Robins with at least 3 young along the side of the garden by the brook.

Forgot to mention yesterday but there were at least 6 sites were I saw young Robins, looks like good timing all fledging locally!

A young Great-spotted Woodpecker also in the garden today, did not recognise the feeders as an available food source but found some water.

A Pied Wagtail carrying food out in the front garden..........presumably nesting nearby and 8 House Sparrow regular on a neighbour’s feeder out front.

4 Swallow, 6 House Martin and 4 Swift regular overhead through the day and the odd Red Kite and Buzzard overhead.

2 Stock Doves, 2 Song Thrush, 2 Moorhen and up to 4 Mallards still regular garden visitors of note and a Blackcap and Chiffchaff in song.
