A quiet day

Sunny (at last), 16°, light E.

Today is "World migratory bird day 2017" and at last some sunshine, pity the birds didn’t rise to the occasion!

2 Wheatear (1m & 1f) on the hill mid-morning but unable to find them after midday so am assuming they have moved on and at least a couple of Mistle Thrush still on the hill.

2 Goldcrest in the grounds of the farm house and a Kestrel seen by Westfield road, Kestrels have been very thin on the ground this year with very few noted in Cholsey.

Cholsey Marsh: Garden Warbler, Blackcap, Common Whitethroat, Lesser Whitethroat, Sedge Warbler, Cetti's Warbler, Reed Warbler and Chiffchaff. Tony Williams.

Mammals: Brown Hare and Roe Deer.

Butterflies: the first butterflies noted for several days. Brimstone, Orange Tip, Small Tortoiseshell, Peacock, Comma and Speckled Wood.
