Swifts moving through and a mixed bag

Sunny with scattered cloud, 14°, breezy ENE.

A windy day on the hill with little movement.

The 4 Wheatear (1m & 3f) still present on the hill but little else.

A bit of a mixed bag today: around midday the first Swift appeared moving north and over the next hour 34 more flew over, a small number but may be indicative of a broader movement.

Elsewhere around Lollingdon: 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Yellow Wagtail, a Tawny Owl (heard), a Little Owl, 2 Jay, 2 Bullfinch, and several Swallow.

The usual Corn Bunting, Yellowhammer and Reed Bunting, Chiffchaff, Blackcap and Common Whitethroat.

The pair of House Martin back at Marymead today but hardly any seen on passage and most of the local Swallows are back.

An adult and 3 juv Mistle Thrush regular in the meadow.

Mammals: Brown Hare.

Butterflies: Brimstone, Orange Tip, Holly Blue, Small Tortoiseshell and Peacock.
