Rubbish Weather

Overcast, 11°, light ENE.

Another boring rubbish weather day, cool and cloudy, it's about time we had some warmer days with decent sunshine and decent rainfall!

3 Wheatear (1m & 2f) still present on Lollingdon hill and 5 Mistle Thrush also feeding on the hill.

Pretty static today as far as any movement goes with just 8 Swallow flying north over the hill.

On the walk out I counted 12 singing Common Whitethroat and 8 Blackcap between the village and the hill and 3 singing Reed Bunting in an oilseed field.

The Little Owl seen again and a Yellow Wagtail nearby.

A report of a Water Vole by one if the brooks in Cholsey. We need to try and verify this sighting and if necessary take action to preserve the habitat!

One of the local ducks nested in the car park at Marymead this year and has eventually hatched out 11 ducklings. At some point they made their way safely to the brook which merited a 200 metre walk from the car park and along a stretch of Church road without an escort. Will keep posted on their progress when possible.
