A quieter day

Sunny spells, 16º, light NW.

A little cooler today on a similar walk as yesterday, 5 Wheatears on Lollingdon hill today and 2 Meadow Pipit, only 2 Willow Warbler today and my first Lesser Whitethroat of the year.

A complete lack of Reed Buntings on the farmland this spring so far, normally at least 6 singing males in the oil seed rape fields but none so far.

A couple of Swallow at Manor farm and 1 over the garden.

This evening I watched a Sparrowhawk attack a Carrion Crow in the trees in the garden, unable to tell if she was trying to take it or just attack it but she took a few feathers from its back.

A Coal Tit and 2 Long-tailed Tit in the garden today and a Kingfisher along the brook.
Same butterflies on the wing as yesterday.

                                                      Blackcap in song
