April Garden



Sunny, 16º, light NE.

Still a bit of a chill to the wind other than that a warm day spent gardening. A little frustrating not getting out but there is always tomorrow.

A Blackcap and a Chiffchaff singing in the garden and the first fledgling of the year, a Blackbird in the garden being fed by both parents.

The Rookery next to the garden has young very close to fledging.

Robin, Dunnock, Wren, Blue Tit, Great Tit present in the garden and visits by a couple of Goldfinch, Greenfinch and House Sparrow, also 6 Chaffinch, 4 Wood Pigeon, 2 Stock Dove, 2 Collared Dove, 2 Carrion Crow, 2 Mallard, a Moorhen and a Great-spotted Woodpecker.

Coal Tit and Goldcrest both heard singing nearby and a Mistle Thrush and a Song Thrush in the meadow, several Swallow overhead, a Kestrel flew over as did a Grey Heron, a couple of Red Kite through the day and a Sparrowhawk through the garden......twice.

Tawny Owls present and very vocal this evening.

Brimstone, Peacock and Orange Tip in garden.
