Wheatears again

Sunny spells, 12º, moderate W, warm in the sun, cool in the wind.

A late afternoon visit to Lollingdon found 3 Wheatear feeding on the hill, the first for a few days, 3 Corn Bunting nearby and a single Meadow Pipit noted.

The north side again had 7 Fieldfare and 2 Redwing still present, 2 Goldcrest heard again along with the 2 Mistle Thrush, 2 Pied Wagtail, 4 Yellowhammer and 3 Chiffchaff, also 2 Tawny Owls calling.

I had a call from Brian Wyatt today and he had seen a pair of Peregrines near Westfield rd this morning and whilst we were on the hill at around 17:00 we saw both Peregrines soaring high overhead and then head off towards the village.

A couple of Peacock and quite a few Small Tortoiseshell butterflies seen.

 One of the Peregrines.
