Still waiting

Sunny, hazy, 10º, light W.

Still quiet on the hill and still anticipating the arrival of a Wheatear but alas not today.
At least 5 Buzzards and 6 Red Kite soaring around today and a single Kestrel in the area.

4 Great-spotted Woodpecker (2 drumming) and still a good flock of winter thrushes with c60 Fieldfare, c60 Redwing and 20ish Starling present.

A single Corn Bunting noted and several Small Tortoiseshell butterflies and quite a few Bumble Bees.

As mentioned in a previous post - 2nd Winter Iceland Gull seen today around 11:30 by Tony Williams on the flooded area between Lollingdon Hill and the A417, not seen this afternoon and it’s the 1st record for Cholsey for this species.

 Great-spotted Woodpecker
 One of the regulars
 Small Tortoiseshell
Bumblebee (Loren)
 In the air for spring
